| The 5.7L HEMI® Multi-Displacement
V8 engine with 340 hp at 5000 rpm and 390 lb.-ft. of torque
is standard on 300C, making it the most powerful sedan in its
class.* The V8 uses a Multi Displacement System (MDS) that allows
the engine to operate on four-cylinders when power demands are
minimal and/or light for up to 20% more fuel efficiency. So
you get the power of a V8 with the economy of a large V6. (EPA
estimated mpg: 17 city/ 25 highway)
The 3.5L High Output V6 SOHC with 250 HP at 6400 rpm and
250 lb.-ft. of torque, standard on 300 Touring and 300 Limited.
(EPA estimated mpg: 18 city/ 28 highway)
The 2.7L V6 DOHC 24-valve MPI with 190 HP at 6400 rpm and
190 lb.-ft. of torque, standard on the 300. (EPA estimated
mpg: 21 city/ 28 highway)

| Rear Wheel Drive |
|
It's something you haven't seen on a Chrysler
performance sedan in over 15 years, but this rear wheel drive
system provides a whole new driving experience. Design and
engineering advancements, combined with new, world class technologies
offer all the advantages of rear-wheel drive and the confidence
of maximum driver control.
A near 50/50 front to rear weight distribution, 120 inch wheelbase
and wider track provide greater stability and a more balanced
ride.
|
|
Weight transfer to the rear wheels occurs upon acceleration
to provide for more balance and better traction
The new short-/long-arm front suspension and five-link rear
suspension helps keep tire tread in full contact with the
road for maximum traction
Available features like: Electronic Stability Program (ESP)*,
ABS and the All-Speed Traction Control all combine to provide
the driver with more precise control under every situation
|
| No system, no matter how
sophisticated, can repeal the laws of physics or overcome careless
driving actions. Performance is limited by available traction,
which snow, ice and other conditions can affect. When the ESP
warning lamp in the speedometer flashes, the driver needs to
use less throttle and adapt speed and driving behavior to prevailing
road conditions. Always drive carefully, consistent with conditions.
Please always wear your seat belt. |

Towing
|
|
 |
For the first time in fifteen years you can feel the power
and performance of rear wheel drive in a Chrysler vehicle.
Leading edge technology has corralled all the raw power and
turned it into a refined ride.
|
- The available antilock 4-wheel brakes
help to prevent wheel lockup on slippery surfaces, so
you can steer while braking to help avoid a collision
- Available all-speed traction control
senses drive wheel slip and individually applies brakes
to the slipping wheel and or reduces excess engine power
until control is regained
- Available advanced Electronic Stability
Program (ESP) is designed to assist drives in maintaining
control of their vehicles during extreme steering maneuvers.
ESP senses when a vehicle is starting to spin (oversteer)
or plow (understeer), and attempts to correct the vehicles
course by automatically controlling the throttle and applying
the brakes and at individual wheels.

300 Virtual Tour to learn more about the benefits of ESP*.

Suspension
|
|
 |
The Chrysler 300's suspension
has been designed to balance maximum control with a comfortable
ride. An all-new short and long arm SLA - front suspension and
five-link independent rear suspension system maintain independent
control of each wheel during suspension movement for excellent
handling. An advanced suspension mounting system provides a
dramatic reduction in road noise to the passenger compartment.
What this means to you is a smooth ride that is also quiet.

Transmission
|
|
 |
The electronically controlled 5-speed automatic
transmission with AutoStick®-standard on the 300C-is the
first use of 5-speed automatic transmission on a Chrysler vehicle
providing improved performance and fuel economy.
A 4-speed automatic transmission is standard on 300, 300
Touring and 300 Limited.
