Don't mess with Dodge Dakota. It has a chip on its shoulder from having all that Ram DNA. But Dakota can hold its own since it has won the Strategic Vision Total Quality Award™ for Best Compact Pickup Ownership Experience* four years in a row. That, and it can tow a best-in-class 6,600 lbs.

It features:

  • Best-in-class† available horsepower, torque and towing
  • Two available transfer cases (full-time or part-time) on 4x4 models
  • Vehicle shown above (Quad Cab 4x4) can handle a payload of 1,550 lbs
  • New available 3.7-liter Magnum V6 with 210 hp and 235 lb.-ft. of torque
Power
With your choice of two available class-exclusive V8 engines and a standard V6, Dakota delivers horsepower and torque by the truckload. The new 4.7-liter high-output MagnumŽ V8 engine (late availability) kicks out 260 horsepower and best-in-class 310 lb-ft of torque. The 4.7-liter Magnum V8 provides 230 horsepower and 290 lb-ft of torque. And the standard 3.7-liter Magnum V6 engine is the most powerful standard engine in its class with 210 horsepower and 235 lb-ft of torque.
Towing and Hauling
Dakota's fully boxed, hydroformed frame provides the stiffness, strength, and durability to handle up to a 1,730-pound payload in the largest and longest standard cargo bed in its class.* It also helps deliver over 7,100 pounds of maximum towing capability when properly equipped. That's over 3,000 pounds more than some of Dakota's nearest competitors.
Transfer Case
There's nothing "compact" about Dakota. Because it not only provides the most interior room in its class for all three cab configurations, it also delivers the most available seating capacity with room for six adults.
Suspension
Best-in-class available horsepower, torque, towing, and payload means you'll be able to bring it on the sand, surf or even the turf. Especially when you're sporting Dakota's available 4.7-liter Magnum® engine.
