Quality Gates

Pacifica is the first Chrysler vehicle to pass through the Chrysler Development System's Quality Gates - a series of high-standard checkpoint tasks and accomplishments required for a vehicle to make it to the road.

Then the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) put it through the paces and Chrysler Pacifica received the government's highest front and side crash test rating - Five Stars.*
Pacifica also earned the U.S. Government's best rating for rollover resistance of all SUVs tested.†

*When equipped with optional side curtain air bags.
†Based on 2004 models tested. Pacifica received a 4 out of 5 star rating.

Accident Prevention

Pacifica goes the extra mile to keep you and your family out of harm's way. It includes active safety features like

  • Standard ABS Brakes
  • Tire Pressure Monitoring System standard on Luxury models
  • All-wheel-drive or Low Speed Traction Control
  • Optional high-intensity discharge (HID) headlamps, available on Luxury models, provide three-times the light output of conventional lamps.
All-Wheel Drive
You can't control the weather, but you can anticipate it. For ice, snow and slick roads, Pacifica's all-wheel drive system, standard on Luxury AWD, provides better forward traction. The system transfers power from the front wheels to the rear wheels to help keep the car safely on the road. Meanwhile, Luxury FWD features traction control for better command of the road when bad weather strikes.
Air Bags
With Pacifica, every passenger has additional protection in the event of a collision. Pacifica's passive safety features include

Driver and front passenger air bags*
Three-row supplemental side curtain air bags* standard on Luxury FWD and Luxury AWD
Inflatable knee blocker* for the driver
Side window laminated glass that helps prevent shattering in the event of a collision, available on Luxury Models

*Always use seat belts. Remember, a back seat is the safest place for children 12 and under.
